Marlin Mathis, LCSW
Mr. Mathis started working in 1992 at Jackson Parish Hospital as a Program manager and therapist in the psychiatric unit. When the psychiatric unit closed in 1996, Mr. Mathis moved to the private sector by starting Health Paradigm Behavioral Health Systems, a 16 bed psychiatric hospital, a transportation company, and a community mental health center, all in Ruston, LA.
Roy F. Baas, LAC, CCS, CCDP, Director of Operations
Mr. Baas has certifications in substance abuse disorders, gambling disorders, co-occurring disorders, and clinical supervision. He has 30 years of broad experience in both private and state addictive disorder treatment programs. His work history includes both administrative and clinical experience including operations, marketing, accreditation, and interaction with judicial and legislative sectors of government.
Jewel May, MA, LAC, CCS, Program Director
Ms. May retired from the Louisiana Office of Addictive Disorders in 2008 where she was a counselor and clinic manager for many years. She is a Qualified Professional Supervisor and provides the required supervision for counselors and Counselors-in-training.
Terry Coon, RN, Director of Nursing
Mr. Coon has 15 years experience as a nursing administrator and registered nurse. He has completed the Professionals in Residence Program at Hazelden and is in charge of the nursing staff.
Bill Lockhart, CAC, Administrator
Mr. Lockhart is a graduate of the University of LA at Monroe, retired from the banking industry after a successful 30 year career and is a US Army veteran. He has broad financial management experience, strong organizational skills, and an extensive network of business relationships. He is responsible for strategic planning and the day-to-day operations of Rayville Recovery.
William D. Thompson, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Thompson has over 30 years of experience practicing medicine in the community of Rayville, LA. He supervises all medical aspects of the treatment program, and provides medical assessment and follow-up to all program residents. Dr. Thompson is licensed to dispense medication by the LA Board of Pharmacy and is responsible for dispensing medications for treatment of medical problems for the program.
Lou (Cookie) Foster, RAC, LPN
Ms. Foster has over 25 years experience in the health care industry. She has worked in the addiction treatment sector for the last 13 years and has been a female counselor in our facility since 2009.
Betty Commanche, RAC
Ms. Commanche has 6 years experience in the addiction treatment sector having worked with the Louisiana Dept. of Health and Hospitals, Office of Addictive Disorders and the 4th Judicial District Drug Court. She has been a female counselor in our facility since 2010.
Steven Mayberry, RAC
Mr. Mayberry has been on staff as a counselor-in-training since 2008. He has been associated with the local recovery groups since 2006 and is involved with client care at our facility on a daily basis.
Shawn Eves, MEd, RAC
Ms. Eves has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health. She is a Registered Addictions Counselor with 5 years of experience in addiction treatment. Prior to Rayville Recovery she worked with the 4th Judicial District Drug Court, Monroe Addictive Disorders Clinic, and Richwood Detention Center.
Tom Willis, CIT
Mr. Willis completed his M.S. in Education in 1974 at Louisiana Tech University and became a teacher and coach for many years. He is currently working as a counselor-in-training and enjoys the rewards of recovery.
